How to select a High Heat Retention Heater
To install high heat retention storage heaters you must have a dual rate electric meter.
The heater selected needs to be one that is adequate to heat the room.
You will need to know 2 things:
- The volume of the room
- The heat losses of the room
The volume of the room is simply the room floor area x room height.
The heat losses of the room is the rate heat is lost through the external fabric of room ie, walls, roofs, floors, and windows and whether these elements are insulated. Well insulated properties will have lower heat losses compared to those not insulated.
Manufacturers and distributors will usually have further guidance or online calculators to help you select the most appropriate heater for your circumstance.
